Therapy that Sees the Whole Picture
Because life doesn’t fit into a formula — and therapy shouldn’t either.
Welcome to a space grounded in dignity, self-determination, and the belief that people carry resilience and strength even in the face of hardship. Support isn’t about following a formula, but about working together to navigate challenges, strengthen agency, and connect with the resources that foster meaningful change.
I work with those navigating anxiety, depression, stress, and life transitions — but above all, I work with people in the fullness of their lives, honoring both personal experience and the broader context of the world around them.

Andrew Wilton LCSW
Clinical Social Worker in Buffalo and across New York State
Social worker. Former educator. Longtime listener to stories and the rhythms of a world in motion.
I have devoted much of my professional life to understanding how people live, connect, and grow. Before social work, I studied architecture and urban planning, drawn to how structure and community shape the way we live. Over time, I came to realize my true focus wasn’t buildings, but people: how they navigate challenges, adapt, and reclaim themselves after hardship.
Nearly twenty years in social work, human services, education, and research have reinforced my belief in human dignity, resilience, and resourcefulness. I have studied many schools of psychotherapy, not to collect techniques for their own sake, but to honor a truth at the heart of clinical social work: every person is unique, and support cannot be reduced to a single method.
Those who work with me often describe my style as attentive, collaborative, and grounded. I am not a silent observer; I share observations, offer practical strategies, and collaborate creatively. My goal is to help you recognize your strengths, clarify your priorities, and take steps toward the changes you want to see in your life.
Support for Life’s Challenges
Therapy that meets you where you are and helps you navigate the situations and systems that shape your life.
People seek support for a wide variety of reasons. Some are seeking relief from anxiety, depression, or stress. Others are managing transitions, juggling responsibilities, or trying to strengthen relationships. Whatever the concern, we’ll focus on building practical strategies, accessing resources, and strengthening your capacity to act with confidence and agency.
Common areas of focus include:
Anxiety & Fear: Gaining steadiness in the face of uncertainty.
Depression & Disconnection: Rebuilding energy and engagement in daily life.
Stress & Burnout: Restoring balance and clarity while meeting real-world demands.
Life Transitions: Adjusting to change and navigating new circumstances with resilience.
Relationships & Boundaries: Strengthening connection while maintaining self-respect and honoring personal limits.
Self-Esteem & Identity: Recognizing and building on your strengths to live with self-determination.
Our work begins with an exploration of your current situation and priorities. Together, we focus on practical steps, resources, and skills to manage challenges in ways that feel empowering and sustainable.
Clinical Social Work
Therapy for real people, and real life.
I practice clinical social work in its truest form — an integrative, empowerment-based approach rooted in the person-in-environment perspective. This means recognizing that our lives are shaped not only by our inner experiences, but also by the systems, communities, and contexts we navigate.
My approach is informed by:
Person-in-Environment Perspective — Understanding your challenges in the full context of your life.
Strength-Based Practice — Centering the resilience, skills, and values you already carry.
Resource Connection — Supporting access to the networks and tools that foster change.
Collaborative Process — Working alongside you to take practical, meaningful steps forward.
This is not about acronyms or rigid methods. These principles draw on well-established social work frameworks, including ecological systems theory, multicultural theory, task-centered practice, and the problem-solving model.
Our work honors the whole of your experience to co-create practical, lasting change.
Trusted by colleagues. Built for connection.
